The Byrds – My Way (Volume 2) is a first-hand description of the inner workings of the Byrds and Burrito Brothers and other entertainment events: written by James ‘Jimmi’ Seiter (Road Manager, production manager and much more). It sets the record and previous assumptions straight as to what was really going on, from detailed personal, first-hand experience. He takes you on his journey which began in 1966; telling his version of events as he lived them in the form of 56 stories. It elaborates on the hard work that went on behind the scenes, to make the magic of music happen on stage. The book recounts the daily happenings of a few of America’s foremost Rock/Folk/Pop bands of the 1960’s & 1970’s as well as other production stories.
This Volume 2 deals with the Younger Than Yesterday album period and road stories, the Beatles to the Pope and the management changing from original management to a new direction, Monterey Pop festival and those challenges. The band is growing up and not really in a good direction, with my own challenges in doing this job alone in Hollywood and not getting the support from management. I hope you enjoy the ride it will enlighten you to what was really going on behind the scenes.

The Byrds - My Way (Volume 6) Volume 6 finds Roger McGuinn, Clarence White, Gene Parsons and John York working to rebuild the band’s live performance credibility. The new album is released, though it is more a McGuinn album than a Byrds album. That issue, along with the new members’ status in the band, will have to be addressed. Jimmi is feeling underappreciated for all he has done for the band, and with nine months of shows booked, still is not trusted by some. Clarence tries hard to keep him focused despite his growing discontent, but in the end Jimmi decides to go elsewhere to gain the respect he should have. He leaves the Byrds for the Burritos.

The Byrds - My Way (Volume 7) Volume 7 finds Jimmi having decided to get away from the Byrds and join the Burrito Brothers to see what they might bring. All the fine promises from the band prior to joining were never realized. Although the band consisted of Gram Parsons, Chris Hillman, Sneaky Pete Kleinow, Chris Ethridge and Michael Clarke, including two original Byrds and one Byrds replacement, the audiences in 1969 were not into hearing country music. It was hard work and a tough sell to win over the fans to the crossover band. At the onset everything seemed fine, but within a few months' time, things started to get foggy.
